Collapse!

One of the things on my 25 in 25 list was to take a non-fitness class, and I just signed up for a class at the UofC. It's so unbelievably dorky, and so, so me. It's called Collapse, and he's the description:

In deserts, in jungles, under water, and under our feet, the world is littered with the remains of dead societies. What happened to them? Why did they fall? This course draws on both history and archaeology to present narratives of collapse from ancient and recent times, examining both general principles and specific proximate causes. Coverage will include, among others, ancient Mesopotamia, the Indus Valley, Rome, the Mongols, the Maya, and the Sudan in the mid-19^th century; plus new light on Easter Island, the poster child of collapse.
John's only comment was, "yeah, that does sound like something you'd be interested in" with a silent "thank god it's not me" attached. It starts in late September - I've fit it in between pole dancing and yoga. There's three nights a week already with set activities. Good.
Now just to figure out how to fill the rest of the time, and get used to silence in the house, and relearn how to sleep by myself...
He leaves potentially September 6th.
