On cookbooks:
Is it sad that reading cookbooks makes me want to purchase a small deep freeze just so that I can make lots of my own excellent stock? As it is now, I have to boil it down to concertrate it, so that I can freeze it in ice cube trays. I boil maybe 10 cups of water down to 2, maybe 3 cups of really flavourful stock. But just imagine what a deep freeze could do for me!
